"Distance makes the heart bleed darker" (Aka "Distance") was used in episode 6 and "Distraction" was used in episode 8.

The acoustic show Friday night was sooo much fun! Thanks to everyone who made it out, and thanks to Dolores Park Cafe and Shayle Matsuda for having us! We hope to do it again really really soon. We should be posting some video footage from the night on our Myspace page, so go check it out!

In other news, we are so happy to say that we will be opening for Von Iva and the Blacks at Bottom of the Hill on May 23! If you've never seen either of these bands you are sorely missing out. We recommend buying tickets now, as this show has a huge chance to sell out!

Hi friends! Hope you all are enjoying the early days of spring! I know we are :) Just wanted to give you a quick update to let you know that we are playing an ACOUSTIC show this Friday, April 4 at the Dolores Park Cafe in San Francisco! This will be a rare chance to see us unplugged! Hope to see you there!

Happy Holidays from the Bruises!  We've been doing alot of band bonding and making lots of plans for 2008!  It's gonna be a great year, just you wait!

The first exciting thing coming up for the New Year is the official release of our album!!! "Connected" will be available on Itunes, Amazon, CDBaby, and more on January 22, 2008.  And you can always order it directly though us!  In fact, we are currently taking preorders so you can get it on or before the 22nd! Do it now!

We are throwing a huge party on February 8 in celebration of the release at the Red Devil Lounge.  Our friends the Hooks and the Ex-Boyfriends will be joining us, with some special guests as well (shhhh, it's a secret!). Get your tickets now!

Last but not least, review for "Connected" are slowly starting to roll in.  Check out the press page to find out what the critics are saying!

Thanks so much to everyone who came and rocked out with us this weekend at the Red Devil Lounge! It was fantastic playing with our friends Von Iva and so great to break out of "album making" mode and back into playing live! Where for art thou Bruises? We've been busy busy busy! The album, titled "Connected", is officially finished--artwork is in the final stages and we are busy planning a cd release show later this year!

Hey friends :) Just wanted to give a quick update on what we've been doing. We're soon to enter the mixing stage on the album, and we are SO EXCITED. We are definitely taking our time with this record, but I promise you it will be worth the wait....

We also just took album cover & promotional photos earlier this month with the famed Jay Blakesberg. Check out his site! We should have some photos up soon from the session.

Last but not least, we've just confirmed that the song "Perfect Vison" will be featured on a YOGA DVD!!!! Yes, that's right, you will be able to rock out AND get a rock hard body with "Yoga For Indie Rockers". Street date is October 30th. We'll keep you posted!

This past weekend saw the conclusion of tracking of tracking the remainder of our new full length!  We are still looking into options for labels--we will keep you posted.

In other news, Aja has been going crazy with the video camera, documenting all the rocking, rolling, and complete insanity that is the Bruises.  She should be updating soon so check it out on the Bruises TV.

Hello loves! We had a great show last week with Agent Orange at the Red Devil Lounge here in San Francisco. It was great to see so many new faces in the crowd and was awesome meeting all of you. Thank you so much for the support and we look forward to seeing you at future shows!

Speaking of future shows, we won't have any for a month or two as we are going back to Take Root to track the second half of our full length. We feel so good about these new songs--some of them we haven't even played live yet so they will be a big suprise for everyone! We will be posting video blogs documenting our studio experience in our JOURNAL section so do keep checking back.

Wow, winter has flown by! So much has happened at in Bruisesville--let us fill you in:

First of all, the recording is going great.  We will be going in for the second installment in early April.  Stay tuned for release information.

Secondly, check us out next week at the RED DEVIL LOUNGE.  We will be opening for Agent Orange which will rock!  This will be our last show for a month or so before we take a small break to finish the record, so be sure to come out!

Last but not least, did you notice the new website?  Geez......

Late Merry Christmas and early Happy New Year from the Bruises! Alot of very exciting business has been taking place at the Bruises camp since our last update. We've been busy busy busy recording what has turned out to be a great start to our album!

In addition, the Bruises will be playing their first ALL AGES San Francisco show on January 11 at Bottom of the Hill!!! We will be joined by our good friends Company Car and 8PAST for a night that won't soon be forgotten. BUY TICKETS HERE!!!

Hey there! We are very excited to announce that next weekend will begin the recording of an all new full-length Bruises album! It's about time, right? Anyway, we are going to be working with producer Scott Tusa at Take Root Recording Studio over the next couple months and can't wait to share the new material with you.....

Just a quick update to let you know a couple things....first of all, BRUISES RINGTONES are now available for FREE on our Downloads page. You know you want it. Go and get it.

Also, keep an ear to the television as MTV has been playing marathons of it's show PARENTAL CONTROL, with some episodes featuring the Bruises' song "Picture" off their EP "Ladies and Gentlemen...." Check it out!
